A unique dining experience deserves a unique identity. Kan Pai is a new sushi & teppan restaurant with a modern, rustic feel. The name Kan Pai is Japanese and translates to cheers; or the common toast. Idiomatically, bottoms up! The design solutions embody this.

Clipper Windpower was a innovative wind turbine manufacturer and wind plant developer. With roots dating back to the late 1980’s, their image needed to be a balance of high tech, sophistication and creativity. I had the pleasure of being an art director for GE Energy for over 10 years. During that time, we developed a visual theme for the wind turbine manufacturing business. Juxtaposing nature and technology, we designed visually-interesting pieces that gained attention and won a few awards along the way.
Bokaddo is a company reinventing the way people find gifts. Think of it as a personal shopping service for gift giving at no cost to the user. We developed a brand and online / mobile platform for the upmarket gift giver (gifts >$100). The goal was simplicity. Sophisticated, clean, simple user website with minimal functionality. Give it a try to appreciate it.

Three dynamic international wind power companies came together to form one of the largest in the world. They asked me to design a holiday card that would make a statement. A card that the recipient would not want to throw away. So that's what I did.
SOLUTION: When folded, the card resembles an intricate snowflake. But begin to unfold and the shapes of wind turbines become unveiled. When laid flat, the four wind turbines appear as a sequence of spinning silhouettes, with "Season's Greetings" embellished in multiple languages. Laser cuts, die cuts, metallic ink, embossing and a translucent envelope make this happen and give the card added flair.

A logo is not your brand, nor is it your identity. A logo identifies your business in its simplest form - via the use of a visual mark. A logo is the face of your company, and it's often the first element with which people engage. So, it's important to get it right and make it memorable.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD LOGO? Milton Glaser, the legendary graphic designer, says that it has to do with simplicity. "You want to move the viewer in a perception so that when they first look at [the logo]...they get the idea, because that act between seeing and understanding is critical,"
Here are a few I'm most proud of.
The Prescott, Arizona campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) was looking to update the eagle mascot logo for their athletic department. The current logo felt dated, didn't strongly represent the brand, was difficult to reproduce and had multiple iterations. Their hope was that the new logo would appeal to students, parents and faculty and reflect a modern, recognizable, bold brand. It needed to be easily adaptable and apply to everything from corporate stationery to the tail of aircraft. A modern, striking, bold representation of an eagle did the trick.

Everything about Matt and Morgan is unique. Why should their wedding be any different? They asked for a unique wedding invitation to communicate their vintage style wedding with a movie theme. A vintage movie poster was created, accompanied by an entry ticket, all wrapped and mailed in a vintage kraft tube.

People are becoming increasingly health-conscious. From organic foods to luxury workout clothes, the fitness market is booming. If you spend $120 for a pair of workout pants, you'd better take care of them. That's where Active comes in – with a focus on taking care of that high-end performance clothing. Active is a niche market, performance laundry detergent focused on the fitness nut. And because we know women do over 80% of the laundry at home, it better catch their eye.

ARRC Technology needed a piece of marketing collateral that would not only tell the story of their massive product offering, but be something that potential clients could not put down. I developed this 12-page brochure to do just that. No details were spared - from photo direction, retouching, metallic inks and the embossed keyboard cover. This piece did exactly what it was meant to do.
Managed the AVANGRID brand and its 10 U.S. subsidiaries for over 11 years. This included everything from creating detailed brand standards to designing power plant logos for community outreach. Hundreds of pieces of marketing collateral, event invitations, newsletters, etc. These are just a handful of those projects.
